Oh Christmas Tree, ...

Okay, a little delayed here.  So sorry for that.

I am super super super excited to be able to switch gears a bit and move on to Christmas goodies!! My head is spinning with ideas and 'pinspirations', some Christmas, some not.  I have my last show coming up next week so need to get hoppin', but I also have a growing list of custom orders on the verge of completion with I will post as soon as they're done.  If you see something you like, let me know and if you know of something you want, I will do my darndest to get it done for you.  Thanks, friends!

First

Well ... my first craft show didn't go quite as I had hoped.  I'm chalking it up to maybe not having the right demographic market.  And I will leave it at that.  The ninety year old woman next to me, however, had smashing success with her handmade vests made out of doilies...

Here are today's un-appreciated items, offered to you for 25% off...

Black

This window was a request by a Michigan friend who wanted something with chicken wire so she could use it for her jewelry.  After I popped the bottom three windows out I thought it would look cool combined as a photo frame.  These are not her children - I only publish my own children's faces all over the internet.

I thank Toby Mac for this lovely saying.  This is something we are constantly working on with our children (and ourselves).  Love is so much more than a word or an emotion.  This sign is on the tinier side but could of course be made larger:

The verse below is one of several floating around my head for my kids' bedrooms.  This one is for my son.  It's one of many in a series - I want it to seem almost like a 'letter' from God.  I like the simple typography (is that a word?).  There is so much wisdom in a simple verse or even a phrase of a song that can often get lost in the hundreds of words around it.  I want my kids to hear the simple messages God is saying to them through His word and through those around them:

Many more like that above on the horizon - let me know if you have any inspiration!
So I guess I'm doing this now! Those who know me know I don't craft.  Like, at all.  In fact, I would find every excuse in the book to try to get myself out of our MOPS craft activity knowing I would only ruin whatever I touched.  But then we moved here to Ohio after five years in Michigan. Into an old house. With a garage full of old wood. In a town full of renovations.  Old windows, old furniture, old wood were all around just begging for a new purpose.  And if our time in Michigan taught us anything, it was that anything broken - and I mean ANYTHING - can be repurposed, made new, and made beautiful.  And so I got to hobbying.  In the process I realized this this may be the first time in nine years that I've done anything that actually had an end point.  Like a for sure, not-going-to-be-undone-in-five-minutes end point.  And it feels good.  So anyway, here it is.  But much like crafting in and of itself used to be the hurdle for me, admitting to crafting and actually sharing what I've made is my next one.  Cuz, like, it's kind of nerve wracking to put your stuff out there and risk people not liking it.  But, I've also realized that if I don't put it out there I will quickly have to change my hobby title from 'crafting' to 'hoarding'.  And that's just sad.  So here I go ...

All things shown are also listed on Etsy.  If interested in a product and you contact me through this blog (meaning I know you in some capacity), you will receive an automatic 25% discount just for being awesome.  Referring other awesome people to me will also earn you more lovely perks.  Remember, all things are custom ordered to your specifications.

I love this - simple yet unique. I added the 'smitten' as an afterthought - not sure which I prefer more.
24" x 11 1/4"
(Etsy: $40)

So fun - adapted from an idea I saw on Pinterest - fun to make, super functional.
5 1/2" x 6'
(Etsy: $35)

20" x 5 1/2"
(Etsy: $20)

My first window redo - so much fun! Glass in tact, full functioning chalkboard
(Etsy: $50)
I would call this 'heavy distressed' for those who are curious

No good straight on picture for this - the photos here don't quite catch the true colors - this is my favorite window piece.  Finishing a verse I transferred onto burlap to add to this - will hang in my dining room above the buffet Matt made - thank you, Ana White!

'medium distressing'

(Etsy: $50)
Again, not the best picture, but you get the idea. We made this for my parents for their Anniversary. So fun to make.  I would call this 'light distressing' for those asking ;)
(Etsy: $50)

I really need to get me some punkins' and cornstalks!

(Etsy: $20)

A lot of these wooden signs have a lot of personal meaning to me. I can only imagine some of these words/phrases speak to you in certain ways as well.
